Gratuitease

Digital tipping for hotels and resorts

Make every hotel service moment easier to tip.

Gratuitease helps a guest reach the right person or service point without carrying cash, searching a name, or scanning a QR code. Hotels can combine worker wearables, free iPhone mode, and fixed-location beacons across one property.

01

One experience across the guest journey

The tipping moment may happen at arrival, in a guest room, beside the pool, or during departure. A hotel needs one understandable experience that can adapt to each of those contexts.

  • Bellhops handling luggage and room delivery
  • Housekeepers associated with a completed room service
  • Spa, pool, concierge, and guest-service teams

02

Bell and door teams

Bellhops, porters, and door teams are part of the hotel experience—not a separate industry. Gratuitease helps guests recognize the person who handled an arrival, luggage delivery, room transfer, or departure without asking for a username or searching a worker directory.

Workers can use free iPhone mode or a wearable while the property retains its approved direct-tip and pooling rules.

03

Wearable and fixed-location discovery

A wearable identifies one worker and stays discoverable while the worker’s phone remains out of the way. A fixed-location beacon connects a place—such as a room or service desk—to the property’s approved gratuity experience.

For housekeeping, the property can associate a completed room with the worker who performed the service so the returning guest sees the assigned person instead of an unrelated worker list.

04

Direct tips, pools, and operational rules

Properties can route a tip directly or apply a configured pool. Schedule-aware eligibility, earning windows, divisions, and manager overrides help the business reflect how the operation actually works. Pooling rules still need to follow the property’s policies and applicable labor requirements.

05

A clearer view for workers and operators

Workers can see how earnings were allocated. Businesses can review detection, prompt, conversion, and earnings signals without treating beacon encounters as a complete count of customers, occupancy, or foot traffic.

Questions

The practical details.

Can a hotel support both direct tips and tip pools?+

Yes. A property can configure direct routing and approved pooling rules for different divisions or service moments.

Does a guest need to scan a room QR code?+

No. Gratuitease is designed around nearby worker and location discovery rather than requiring a QR code as the primary flow.

Can guests tip without the full app?+

At participating properties, a supported App Clip experience lets a guest tip without downloading the full app.
