Worker Payout and Tip-Reporting Agreement

Last updated: September 15, 2026

This agreement applies when you receive, view, or manage gratuities through Gratuitease. It supplements the Terms of Service and does not replace any agreement between you and a participating employer.

Your status and payout route

A worker may use Gratuitease independently or through a participating business. A business may identify a worker as an employee, contractor, or individual worker and may select direct payout or payroll handling. Those settings are operational instructions; they do not determine legal employment status. Questions about classification, wages, withholding, or benefits belong with the business or a qualified adviser.

Direct payout and Stripe Connect

When direct payout is enabled, payment services are provided through Stripe Connect and are also subject to the Stripe Connected Account Agreement and incorporated Stripe terms. You authorize Gratuitease to create or connect and administer the connected account for the Service; submit information and instructions you provide; retrieve verification, balance, transaction, bank-destination, transfer, and payout status; route eligible amounts; initiate a payout you request; apply documented corrections; and place a reasonable hold when fraud, refund, dispute, duplicate payment, sanctions, provider, or legal review requires it. You authorize Gratuitease and Stripe to exchange connected-account data as needed to provide, secure, support, and reconcile these services.

Employer payroll handling

When payroll is selected, Gratuitease provides the participating employer with tip-attribution reports. The employer—not Gratuitease—is responsible for payroll timing, wage statements, tax withholding and reporting, legally required distributions, and resolving employment questions. Amounts shown in the app may be pending until the employer completes payroll.

Individual and pooled tips

An individually attributed tip is assigned to the identified worker, subject to refunds, disputes, fraud review, and lawful employer instructions. A pooled tip may be allocated only under the participating business's configured pool rules. You can review the recorded allocation and report an error. Gratuitease does not decide whether a particular pool is lawful for your job or location.

Corrections, refunds, and disputes

If a customer payment is refunded, disputed, duplicated, reversed, or allocated incorrectly, related payouts may be delayed, corrected, or reversed to the extent permitted by law. We will preserve transaction and correction records. Contact support promptly if you believe a correction is wrong.

Fees, taxes, and payout speed

Standard Cashout is free from Gratuitease. When worker-paid Instant Cashout is available, the current fee is 2% of the requested net deposit, subject to a $0.25 minimum and $25.00 maximum; a participating employer may sponsor the fee where enabled. The exact fee, fee payer, payout amount, and estimated speed are displayed before confirmation. Gratuitease will not use a transfer reversal to silently reduce the stated tip. Availability and who may be charged can depend on worker classification and jurisdiction. Independently paid workers remain responsible for their own tax filings and obligations except where a participating business is legally responsible for withholding or reporting.

Records and consent

You consent to electronic records, notices, payout statements, and tax or tip reports. Keep your contact, payout, and tax information current. Your authenticated electronic acceptance records the agreement version, time, account, and basic device information.
