Tips, fees, and cashout

A tip may be direct or divided through an approved pool. Workers can see the resulting allocation in their earnings activity.

A $0.12 Gratuitease platform fee applies to each card-funded tip. It supports secure payment operations, infrastructure, notifications, customer support, and operation of the service. It is separate from the worker’s tip and is not distributed as tip income. A tip funded entirely by eligible Gratuitease promotional credit does not incur this fee.

A separate technology fee of up to 3% may apply to the card-funded tip amount. Gratuitease checkout shows the platform fee, technology fee, and total before authorization; the supported payment wallet then displays the amount being authorized. Business-paid tip processing is currently unavailable.

For a $2.00 card-funded tip, a $0.12 platform fee and a 3% technology fee of $0.06 produce a total of $2.18. The worker’s selected tip remains $2.00, subject to any business-configured tip-pool allocation.

Standard Cashout is free from Gratuitease. When worker-paid Instant Cashout is available, the fee is 2% of the requested net deposit, subject to a $0.25 minimum and $25.00 maximum. A participating employer may sponsor that fee where enabled. The exact fee, fee payer, payout amount, and estimated speed are disclosed before confirmation.
